Good morning everyone.
You should all have received a communication from us by now explaining that today's ( 5th February ) crop has been cancelled due to the weather conditions. We thought it safer to take this action rather than have people travelling on snowy/icy roads.

Hi everyone
The crop is still going well and we have some extra tables now so have plenty of room, also the kitchen is being refitted and we have a microwave so feel free to bring something to warm for your lunch

Don't forget to put an entry into the monthly challenge we run - the sketch map is given out at the crop so you have approximately a month to do it and it can be anything, not necessarily a scrapbook page. There is a lovely prize available to the winner which is chosen by everyone who attends

We have got Katie from Cre8tive Online bringing her shop to our crop in June and really hope you can come to the crop. If you are unable to come for the day, please feel free to pop in and dont forget, if you go online to Katie's website you can order specific items for her to bring for you - just let her know you come to our crop If there is something you are looking for and cant find it please pop her an email and Katie will see if she can help you. Birthday crop

We cannot believe that September has almost come round which means that it is our 2nd Birthday Crop. The date is 5th September and the times are extended to 9am - 5pm - just for this one.
This will cost £25 and includes three kits - which are all absolutely fab - 1 large and 2 smaller ones. There will also be a quiz and games all with lovely prizes (some of which have been donated from our local craft shops) and should be lots of fun.
You will need to bring your own lunch as usual but tea, coffee etc will be provided - possibly a birthday cake too.......
Spaces are limited so please contact us to book your place if you haven't already and as usual, please pay in advance for this as we are buying all the lovely things in the kits.

If you wish to add photos to you project on Sunday the pages are going to be approximately
6" X 6" therefore a selection of 6" X 4" photos that can be cropped will be perfect.

Important update

We've watched the forecasts for days and discussed it at length. We really feel it would be unwise to ask people to turn out who have not been travelling anywhere.
So Sally has done a sterling job and managed to book the hall for the next sunday instead which is the 17th January so we'll now postpone until then. I hope everyone can make the change to this date if not please contact the funcrop blog or one of us asap for us to sort you out.

Hi all those looking for the piccy requirements for the crop next week you will need one photo that is roughly 6" x 5.5" this can alter by roughly an inch on either or both measurements so it's not crucial. They will need to go on a pink/green LO.

Birthday Crop.

Here is a selection of photos from our Birthday Crop.
It really was a lovely day, with a lot of fantastic work being done.
Everyone enjoyed the kits, make and takes and the chatting.
Anne provided us with a glorious cup cake tower that was appreciated by everyone alongside all the other yummy goodies that were brought along by our Funcrop friends.

This was all rounded off with a great Chinese meal!
It has been a wonderful first year and we are now looking forward to another fun filled year with lots of exciting projects and activities in the planning.
Thank you all so much for making the Funcrops such a success.

First Birthday all day crop

We can't believe that a week Sunday is our first birthday and that it has come round so fast. All the planning we have been doing is finally coming to fruition!
Dont forget the timing has changed and it is 9am to 9pm.
You will need to bring lots of photos with you, together with your normal tool kit, lunch and your camera. You can bring some of your own things to crop but we suggest you don't bring too much extra ....There is going to be a lot of things for you to do;
A LO(single or double 12x12) kit that Kay has put together (which Shirley and I are a bit envious of) the colours in the kit are autumnal brown, orange, blue and green.
Please bring your own inks/paint/pens for this LO.
A mini book kit in black red and white that I have put together, you can put small photos on if you want to but it is completely optional and they are not necessary.
Again please bring your own inks/paint/pens.
There will be demonstrations during the day that Shirley, Kay and I will each be doing.
We will have lots of books and things to give you ideas to do the kits as there will be prizes, both spot prizes and for the challenges! and dont forget there will be goodie bags too We really look forward to seeing you but please feel free to contact us if you have any queries.

Kay’s Multiple photo LO class for August crop:
The sizes of your photos needed for this class are as follows:-
1 x 7.5” wide by 5.5” high
5 x 1.5” wide by 2.5” high
16 x 3” wide by 2” high

All the smaller photo’s can be printed to size or cropped from larger pictures that you wouldn’t necessarily scrap otherwise.
This is a great LO for using up a series of pictures on a common theme that don’t deserve a LO to themselves but are definitely worthy of being scrapped.

Advance Notice

Just an advance note to those who weren't there - our September crop on 6th September is to be a special 12 hour crop as it is our first birthday 10am to 10pm.
Bring your own lunch but a meal in early evening will be provided.
A kit for you to do.
Tea, coffee etc provided.
There will also be challenges and possibly a game or little quiz.
All this for just £30.
If you want to attend, a deposit of £5 can be paid asap and the remaining balance will need to be paid by the August crop at the latest.

April Crop

Hi I'm trying to get you all the info for next crops class if you're doing it so I'll pop it here to incase you see this first.
You need 1 at 9"x6" landscape 1 at 9"x6" portrait and 2 at 6"x6" these sixes are important and 3 of these pictures will be cut into parts this is fine even with people in though, I've used us and it works fine.
Don't worry if you can't get this sorted for the crop as the basis of the LO can always be completed and the pictures can be added later.

February Class Kit

Hi all, thought you may be looking for info for the class for next week so if you are booked for it and want to do it on the day, you will need a photo in portrait orientation that is 7.5" x 5.5".

The colours are from the basic grey wassail range, so are muted browny greens with red tinges and accents. I hope that helps in your photo selection if not remember the kit is a grab bag so you can easily take it away to complete at your leisure.

What will I need?

Does the thought of coming to a crop sound like fun, until you think about packing all of your supplies? Crops are a great way to get inspired, meet new people and if you’re organized, make a number of pages. Sometimes scrapbookers (myself included) spend just as much time packing and unpacking as they do actually scrapbooking.
Let’s start with what you don’t need to bring: every scrapbook supply you own. I’ve been guilty of packing up a large crate full of stuff, plus a couple of paper totes and a tool tote and by the end of the day realize I didn’t even open the tote. (sound familiar?) Here’s a quick list of what to bring so you avoid this pitfall and have plenty of time to complete your beautiful pages and have less to carry as well.
1. Page Kits…Plan ahead on what pages and projects you want to work on during the crop. Pack your photos, papers and embellishments together so you can start work easily. I put coordinating papers together, right after I buy them and print photos then so whenever I’m in the scrapping mood I can sit right down and get to work instead of scavenging for supplies. It’s also a great way of keeping track of what I’ve bought.
2. Your basic tools…I know the definition of basic is different for everyone.
Here’s my list…
** Paper trimmer
** Adhesives
** Black ink pad and acrylic block…other colour inks depending on pre-planned pages
** Journaling block stamp if you have any
** Ruler
** Scissors
** Paper Piercer
** Cutting mat
** Your choice of punches or prepunched shapes
3. 3 or 4 sheets of your most commonly used cardstock colours. Plus a small bag of cardstock scraps in a variety of colours.
4. Your favorite rubber stamps (You know the alpha you reach for over and over again and few other basic shapes)
5. Please also bring a packed lunch.... Studies show chocolate boosts creativity!!!!
We supply tea/coffee/cakes and biscuits but I think it’s always nice to have a water bottle on hand.
That’s it…yes really…and you can probably fit all of this into one tote bag and tool carrier. If you’re still worried about life without the 42 packs of Thickers you used to bring to a crop, think about these things:
You probably have a friend who hasn’t read this post and packed her kitchen sink, so you can borrow from her.
You will be going home eventually and can finish the page then.
